For Graduate Study

Admission Information

There are two ways to pursue your graduate study in Arita Laboratory. Only the Japanese names of the Ph. D. degree are different, and all others (including tuition fee) are the same.

Since my background is computer science, I think Frontier Sciences is much easier to enter.

奨学金

For international students, scholarship is absolutely necessary. Without any financial aid, it is almost impossible to complete your graduate study in Japan. The best one is Monbukagakusho Scholarship from the Japanese Government. You will be supported 5 years plus a language course and the tuition fee will be exempted. Please consult with your local Japan Embassy for the selection information.

Once you belong to my laboratory, you are eligible for RIKEN Junior Research Associate Program (JRA). This program is highly recommended for doctorate course students.

Post-doc Positions

My laboratory is looking for a postdoc with expertise in

  • programming languages (preferably Java and Cpp), and
  • chemometrics, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, or bioinformatics.
If you are self-supported, you are always welcome. Please try applying for any of the follows.
  • RIKEN Foreign Postdoctoral Researcher Program (FPR site)
  • JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship (JSPS site)
  • JST Sakigake Program (JST site)
